Haha Pinot Gris

Haha Pinot Gris

£16.95Price

A youthful, charming and elegant Pinot Gris.

The grapes were sourced from a number of vineyard sites in Hawke’s Bay. After a slow, temperature-controlled fermentation a small portion of the final blend went through malolactic fermentation to create a softer richer style of Pinot Gris. Following blending, the wine was bottled young to capture the aromatic characters and freshness.

The 2022 vintage provided the warmest weather on record in New Zealand. This along with favourable rain post flowering set up a fantastic fruit crop – an early and compact harvest produced fabulous wines that rival the last two years vintages with well-balanced flavour and acidity.

    Tasting Notes:

Light golden yellow with bright green hues. Lifted floral bouquet and a hint of creaminess on the nose; the apple, nectarine and pear aromatics are reflected in the palate. These vibrant fruit flavours merge into a silky, rounded mouthfeel. Delightfully drinkable.

This wine is delicious on its own or enjoy slightly chilled with a chicken Caesar salad.

  • The Producer

Hãhã Wine started when three families who were already involved in exporting apples, meat and seafood, had a chat about adding wine into the mix. Hãhã (a Māori word meaning to catch your breath) was launched in 2011 and based in Havelock North, Hawke’s Bay – with vineyards in Hawke’s Bay and Marlborough.

Hãhã are fully committed to an environmentally responsible approach. All their vineyards, wineries and bottling facilities – based in the famous regions of Marlborough and Hawke’s Bay – are certified as 100% sustainable by Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand™ (SWNZ).

New Zealand was the first wine industry to establish a national sustainability programme. SWNZ started as an industry initiative in 1994 and then was introduced commercially to the whole industry in 1995. Nearly thirty years later, SWNZ is still widely recognised as a world-leading in its approach.
